"Challenge"...HSNT was selected as one of 50 shelters nationwide to compete nationally in a tremendous event, detailed below.

HSNT has been invited to participate in The ASPCA'S nationwide "Save More Lives Challenge," competing for  a 100K grant from the ASPCA in New York. The challenge is to promote our adoptable animals, creatively engage our community to the cause of saving more animal lives through adoption, and adopt at least 300 more animals than over the same 3-month period last year. The time frame runs from August 1st to October 31st. Originally there were 50 shelters competing, but over the past several weeks, 4 or 5 shelters have dropped out.

HSNT is the only shelter in Texas competing, and we are excited to announce that HSNT is currently in 5th place amongst all competitors according to the official tally for August, which was just completed by the ASPCA data team.

We are posting several "blogs" weekly (see previous blogs by clicking the link below) and are hoping that you and your team would share these blogs (and the link) with your family, friends, and co-workers. Each "click" on one of our blogs is counted and will play a part in the community engagement aspect of the competition. Our next blog will feature many of our corporate friends who have joined hands to save more lives through communication and outreach.

HSNT would love to offer NO CHARGE ADOPTIONS to your colleagues during the month of October. We are searching for innovative and creative ways to profile this month's outreach activities, and we love our Law Enforcement friends!!

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact myself or Tammy Hawley directly at this email address, and if you make it into the shelter, please, just mention to the adoption staff that you are one of our 'To Serve and Protect' adopters or bring in this email!

We hope you take us up on our offer to find that forever friend!! :)

"To Serve and Protect" adoption specials throughout the challenge and possibly beyond; offering free adoption fees to all members of our public service during the month of OCTOBER work force including police, fire, paramedics, etc.
