Corporal Deborah Lockhart

Deborah
Lockhart started her career in Law Enforcement in 1981
as a corrections officer for the Taylor County Sheriff's
Office. In Nov. 1981, she attended the West Texas
Council of Governments and obtained her basic peace
officers license. Near the end of 1983 Debbie was
promoted to Warrant officer. She continued in the
role of warrant officer until June of 1990.
Debbie
then started Johnson County Sheriff's Office in June
1990 and worked as a patrol deputy until 1995 when she
was selected the first female patrol deputy to promote
into Criminal Investigations. In 1998 Sheriff
Alford created the community service unit and Debbie was
assigned to the role of Crime Prevention Officer, Crime
stopper Coordinator, manager of R.U.O.K program and the
immediate supervisor of the S.R.O program.
Lockhart
is currently the Johnson County Sheriff's Office
Training Coordinator that handles all the training for
the deputies at the Johnson County Sheriff's Office as
well as other agencies around the local area.
Debbie
currently holds a Masters peace officers license which
she is also the first female to get a Masters Peace
officers license at the Johnson County Sheriff's
Office. She was voted Special Assignment Officer
of the Year for 1999 and was named the woman of the year
from the business and professional women's association
for 2000.
Debbie
is married and her husband is a police officer with the
city of Arlington. She has had numerous family members
in Law Enforcement. Debbie's Grandfather was a
police officer in Selma Alabama and unfortunately killed
in the line of duty. Her cousin is a retired deputy
sheriff in Florida as well as another cousin who retired
as a deputy sheriff in Florida . Debbie also has a
niece who is working as a police officer in Irving
TX.
